MEET DR. MELISSA AMUNDSON, BOCA RATON ORAL SURGEON

Dr. Amundson received her dental degree at University of Illinois at Chicago / College Of Dentistry in 2007. She completed her internship at the University of Pennsylvania and completed her residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, in 2012, which was the only level one trauma center in Dade County at the time. She followed this with 3 years of private practice and voluntary faculty at Hospital Escuela in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
Dr. Amundson then decided to return to academics in 2015 and recently completed an Advanced Trauma/CMF fellowship at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in trauma and post traumatic reconstruction. She has interests in maxillofacial trauma, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants and orthognathic surgery. Additionally, she is also involved in facial cosmetics, including injectables and “Liquid Facelift”. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, traveling, and volunteer mission work.
Dr. Melissa Amundson is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Her interests include the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis on complex maxillofacial reconstructive surgery, intricate wisdom tooth extractions, orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery), and dental implantology. Dr. Melissa Amundson has received multiple awards in excellence for her commitment to oral surgery and humanitarian relief. Dr. Melissa Amundson has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles including AAOMS Today and Face to Face Magazine. Additionally, and to her credit, Dr. Amundson is the only American Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon on the Doctors Without Borders team (Médecins Sans Frontières).
